奥林匹克青年营(Olympic Youth Camp)是奥运会不可分割的一部分,是奥林匹克旗帜下的青年教育和文化交流活动。青年营的举办对于奥林匹克精神的传承和发扬具有重大意义,其宗旨是传播奥林匹克精神,展示主办国和主办城市的历史文化和风土人情,促进各国青年交流和友谊,为全世界各地的青年人创造一次独特的奥运经历。 青年营始于1912年的斯德哥尔摩奥运会,当时的瑞典国王古斯塔夫邀请了1500名童子军在奥林匹克体育场附近搭建帐篷,举行联欢活动,开创了青年营的先河。近一百年来,几乎每届奥运会都组织了青年营活动。自2004年起,《奥林匹克宪章》第五章第五十条明确规定:“经国际奥委会执行委员会授权,奥运会组委会可以自己负责在奥运会期间举办国际青年营”。 举办时间 2008年8月6日——17日 营地 北京一零一中学建于 1946 年, 郭沫若题写校名并释其涵义为“百尺竿头,更进一步”。校园位于圆明园遗址,地处中关村科技园区中心地带,东临清华大学,南接北京大学,占地面积 20 万平方米。学校环境优美,交通便利,拥有高素质的教学队伍和现代化的教学设施,被国际专家评价为理想的青年营营地。 主题口号 青年创造未来 举办宗旨 北京2008奥林匹克青年营将围绕三项宗旨设计开展相关活动:一是充分展示各个国家和地区的青年风采及中华民族传统文化;二是在世界青年中广泛传播奥林匹克精神,倡导世界和平、合作发展、共同繁荣的理念;三是使北京青年营成为有特色、高水平的奥运会中最亮丽的一道风景。 营员组成 北京2008奥林匹克青年营营员包括国际营员、国内营员并首次招募了残疾人营员,总体规模约480人。全球205个国家(地区)的奥委会将全部选派代表参加,实现了历届青年营之最。20名来自青年营的火炬手将在河北、河南、天津和北京参加火炬接力活动。 团队组织 青年营场馆团队属于非竞赛类场馆,设主任1名,副主任5名,秘书长1名。团队按照主责功能分为8个业务口(详见图表),人员规模约60名,主要来自北京奥组委相关部门、共青团北京市委员会、北京101中学及其他相关单位。同时,近300名志愿者将为青年营各项活动提供志愿服务。 大型活动 北京2008奥林匹克青年营将围绕“体验奥运”、“交流学习”、“了解中国”三条主线,设计推出开营仪式、营内主题和营外主题三类活动—— “体验奥运”:观看开幕式彩排、开幕式以及奥运会比赛;参加奥运会火炬接力;开展友谊传递活动;举办奥林匹克大课堂,开展奥运知识讲座;参观奥运村和比赛场馆。 “交流学习”: 围绕环境、文化、科技等主题,举办“青年创造未来”主题论坛;开展科技文化考察活动,组织营员参观北京的高科技创新园区、高科技企业及故宫等文化古迹园林场所;围绕环境保护、科技创新和文化融合,举办青年DIY创意展示、各国营员文化交流;组织开展团队拓展训练,举办系列文艺表演等联欢活动;组织开展营员团队体育健身交流活动。 “了解中国”:开展中国传统文化讲习活动,包括学习烹饪、武术、手工艺品制作等,使营员学习体验中国文化;参观北京的文物古迹;进行中国民间体育活动学习体验。 官方网站 www.beijing2008.cn 联系方式 北京2008奥林匹克青年营 地址:北京市海淀区颐和园路11号 电话:(86)10-82617281 传真:(86)10-82611352 电子邮件: oyc@beijing2008.cn Youth Create the Future -Brief Introduction on Beijing 2008 Olympic Youth Camp Background Introduction Olympic Youth Camp (OYC) is an integral part of the Olympic Games. It programs the activities of youth education and culture exchange under the banner of the Olympic Games. The establishment of the OYC is of great significance in passing and carrying forward the Olympic spirit, with the goal of spreading the Olympic spirit, showcasing the cultural history and folk-custom of the host city and country and promoting the communication and friendship among the youth from all the countries so as to create an unique Olympic experience to the youth all over the world. The OYC began at the Stockholm 1912 Olympic Games, when King Gustav V of Sweden invited 1,500 Boy Scouts to pitch their tents near the Olympic Stadium and celebrate the Games. Since about 100 years ago, almost every Olympic Games has hosted the OYC. According to the Olympic Charter (2004), Chapter 5, Rule 50, “With the authorization of the IOC Executive Board, the OCOG may, under its own responsibility, organize an international youth camp on the occasion of the Olympic Games." Hold Time August 6 to 17, 2008 Camp Site Beijing 101 Middle School was set up in 1946. Mr. Guo Moruo inscribed the name of the school meaning “make still further progress; make another step at the top of a pole hundred feet high”. Near the Yuan Ming Yuan relic, the school is located at the central area of Zhong Guan Cun Science & Technology Park, adjacent east to Tsinghua University and south to Peking University and takes 200,000 square meters. The campus enjoys a beautiful landscape, convenient transportation. It has the faculty of high quality and facility of modernization and is appraised as the ideal youth camp site by international experts. Slogan Youth create the future. Goal Beijing 2008 OYC will plan and develop activities concerned focused on three goals: first to display fully the elegant demeanor of the youth from every country and region and the traditional Chinese culture; second to promote the Olympic spirit among the young, and the ideals of world peace, cooperation and development, and shared prosperity; and the third and last, to make Beijing OYC the brightest spot of the Olympic Games of high-level and distinguishing features. Camp Members Beijing 2008 OYC members consist of international campers, domestic campers. OYC also recruits for the first time disabled campers and makes the final total of 480 campers. 205 National (Regional) Olympic Committees around the world all send out their representatives to the Camp to contribute to the most comprehensive Camp ever. Twenty torch bearers from the OYC will be joining the torch relay activity in Hebei, Henan, Tianjin and Beijing. Team Organization The OYC gym team is of non-contest. It has one director, 5 vice directors, 1 secretary. The team has 8 business functions based on its main responsibilities. It consists of 60 people coming mainly from the concerned units of Beijing Olympic Committee, the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, Beijing 101 Middle School and other units related. Meanwhile, there are about 300 volunteers who will deliver voluntary services to all kinds of activities organized by the OYC. Olympic experience: You will have a chance to attend the Opening Ceremony and its rehearsals, watch Olympic competitions, take part in Olympic torch relay, join in friendship transfer activities, learn about the Olympic Games, visit the Olympic Village and tour Olympic venues. Cultural exchange: “Youth Create the Future” symposia will be held with the focus on the themes of environment, culture, and science and technology. Culture and science and technology reviews will be organized. The campers will go and visit the high-tech parks, enterprises and the cultural and historic sites such as Imperial Palace. Youth DIY creation exhibition and cultural exchange among the campers of different nationalities will be held with the themes of environment protection, science and technology innovation and culture blending. Other activities include: outside bound trainings, series of culture performances, sports and team-building exercises. Understanding China: Teaching and learning activities on traditional Chinese culture include cooking, marshal arts, and handicraft making, etc. so that the campers experience Chinese culture. The campers will also visit cultural and historical sites, take part in traditional Chinese sports.
